BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT

Friday, October 9, 2026 - 7:00 PM EDT

Barkin/Selissen Project, a New York City-based contemporary dance company dedicated to bringing people together through dance, presents Stardust Gallery, featuring acclaimed repertory and glimpses of the company's newest work, Stardust and the Gen(i)us of Fungi.

Join us for an evening of imagination and discovery that celebrates the unexpected ways we find meaning, belonging, and connection in an increasingly complex world. Inspired by chance encounters and the mysteries that exist just beyond our understanding, the work explores the hidden patterns that shape our lives and communities.

Blending powerful physicality with playful curiosity, Stardust Gallery moves fluidly between the familiar and the unknown, creating a space where wonder, reflection, and possibility can coexist. Through evocative movement, striking imagery, and moments of both intimacy and surprise, BSP invites you to experience the threads that tie us to one another, the natural world, and the unknown. What emerges is an experience that celebrates both the questions that unite us and the relationships that make us human.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS presented by Phoenix Theatre Ensemble

Sunday, October 11, 2026 - 1:00 PM EDT

“Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below, filling each lowly burrow with its spirit of divine discontent and longing.”

In 1908, at the height of the Industrial Revolution, Kenneth Grahame wrote The Wind in the Willows as a reflection on a bygone time, a nature-filled lifestyle that seemed to be rapidly disappearing. Grahame’s woodland critters are just like us: they emerge from their homes seeking adventure and good company; they make rookie mistakes and terrible blunders; and they are driven, as if by some ancient force, to appreciate and wonder at the world around them.

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble’s new interactive adaptation of Grahame's timeless classic is a tale of river life and friendship. This adaptation is entertainment for all ages, confirming the power of close friends and how courage can make a difference in the lives of others.

Performed under the canopy tent in the garden of the Hopper House Museum, rain or shine.
